Reviewing Worlds of Exile and Illusion 3 Critically speaking, my verdict on City of Illusions was similar to my feelings on Rocannon's World : Better than most SF adventure novels, not as good as Le Guin's later work. Le Guin Planet of Exile is another short novel/novella and, like Rocannon's World, ended when it was getting good. Worlds of Exile and Illusion , Ursula Le Guin contains the books from her Hainish/Ekumen of Known Worlds series Rocannon's World , Planet of Exile , City of Illusions . This opening sequence to Rocannon's World, the first of Le Guin's Hainish Cycle novels, reveals quite a bit of the spirit to be found in reading this 1966 novel and its two succeeding novels, Planet of Exile (1966) and City of Illusions (1967).
